About the Pastor
Yolandra Johnson was born at Ft. George Meade in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and was raised in northeast Baltimore. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system; and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hampton University where she graduated with highest honors. She received her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Radford University. Ms. Johnson is the proud daughter of the Rev. Hattie Johnson-Holmes, Pastor of Jerusalem Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD and the late Gary E. Johnson, Sr.
Yolandra received the Lord as her Savior at the age of twelve and has always strived to please and serve Him in her daily walk. She heeded His call upon her life and was licensed as an Exhorter in September 2005 at Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Luke J. Robinson. At Quinn Chapel, Yolandra served on the ministerial staff as the first ordained female minister in the church’s over 200 year history. She served as Youth Minister, director of the Gospel Choir, coordinator for the Young Adult Ministry, director of the Young Adult Choir and Bible study teacher. In June of 2006, Yolandra left her position of Program Manager of Multicultural Student Services at Frederick Community College to pursue full time study at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In April of 2008, she was ordained an Itinerant Deacon at the 58thSession of the Washington Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church. She completed her seminary studies with a Master of Divinity degree May of 2009. In April of 2010 at the 60thSession of the Washington Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church she was ordained an Itinerant Elder. Following the 62ndSession of the Washington Annual Conference, she accepted the ministerial assignment to serve as Director of Christian Education at Falls Road AME Church in Baltimore, MD. In August of 2017, she was honored to receive her first pastoral appointment from Bishop James L. Davis to Mt. Zion AME Church in Knoxville, MD. To God be the glory!
Yolandra is awed and humbled that God would choose her to be one of His many messengers. It is her hope and prayer that she will continually take the healing and victory He has given her and share it with others so that they may be blessed and delivered.
